Piston - OBD2 Car Scanner 3.9.0

With Piston, you can easily access your car's diagnostic information. This app allows you to turn your mobile device into a car scanner and read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) associated with any issues, as well as view Freeze Frame data. This feature is incredibly helpful in identifying and resolving problems.

To use Piston, you'll need an ELM 327 based adapter - either Bluetooth or WiFi - which you connect to the OBD2 socket in your vehicle. The app provides step-by-step guidance on how to establish this connection. You can access these instructions from the Home page after installing the app, or from the Settings menu at any time.

With Piston, you can:

• Read and clear Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) according to the OBD2 standard
• View Freeze Frame data, which captures a snapshot of sensor data when the ECU detects a malfunction
• Access real-time data from sensors
• Check the status of Readiness Monitors that monitor emission control devices
• Store the DTCs you've read in a local history
• Login and store your DTCs in the cloud
• View charts of sensor readouts
• Export real-time sensor data to a file
• Check the VIN number of your car
• Examine ECU details, such as the OBD protocol or PIDs number

To use this application as a car scanner, you'll need a separate ELM327 based device - either Bluetooth or WiFi. Piston is compatible with the OBD-II (also known as OBDII or OBD2) and EOBD standards.

In the United States, all vehicles sold since 1996 are required to support the OBD2 standard. In the European Union, petrol-engined vehicles have been required to comply with the EOBD since 2001, while diesel vehicles have been required since 2004. For Australia and New Zealand, OBD2 compliance is mandatory for all petrol cars made from 2006 and diesel cars made from 2007.

Important: This application can only access the data that your vehicle supports and provides via the OBD2 standard.
